A new group in human ecology aims for a fresh take on clothing, the idea of style, and the value and history of textiles.

Artistic inspiration can come from some unusual sources, like the patchwork crazy quilt of cut-up menswear that sparked fashion design student Lauren MacDonald's clothing creations. The garments she designed are featured as part of a new exhibit at the University of Alberta entitled Waste Not Want Not: Creating Through Recycling.
