Operating & Acquisition Fund

This fund serves two functions: to help the running of the collection and to purchase rare and important pieces that are not likely to be donated. It can be used for equipment purchase, service contracts, repairs and upgrades to our facilities. Monies given specifically for the purchase of artifacts will be ear-marked and spent only on acquisition of special artifacts. These pieces could serve to address classroom and research needs or exhibition needs. It is possible that individuals and organizations that make a donation for the purchase of a specific artifact could be named and/or donors could honour a loved one or a special occasion by making a donation to purchase a specific piece. Although such purchases can be costly and few, they can be the focus of unique research by faculty that can push the boundaries of knowledge in the field.
